Punter Southall Health & Protection (PSHP) has enhanced its suite of expatriate benefits solutions to offer higher levels of benefits, support and insurance for expats and their families pre, during and post overseas assignments.
The services add to PSHP’s existing expatriate benefits services which include pre-assignment screening delivered by Healix International, a cultural training and expatriate employee assistance programme (EAP) from Morneau Shepell, and international medical insurance through Bupa Global.
Teresa Wighton, Head of International Healthcare Consulting at Punter Southall Health & Protection, said:
“Sending employees overseas can be risky and the cost of failure high. In the worst case scenarios, companies can lose their valuable talent. Supporting employees throughout their relocation journey can make all the difference.”
The company has partnered with NetExpat, a leading relocation support company, to offer interactive intercultural coaching workshops to help expats and their families settle in quickly within days of their arrival.
These workshops are designed to give people a better understanding of the local culture from a business and social perspective, and advise them on practical issues, such as how to access utilities, which schools are the best, or how to register with a doctor. NetExpat also operates a global online community to enable expats to connect around the world.
Commenting on the new service, Teresa said:
“Any family relocating overseas will experience many emotional highs and lows, and having intercultural training right from the outset can be a great way of helping them learn about the local culture so they can quickly adapt to their new environment and settle in.”
Through its exclusive agreement with Bupa Global, PSHP has also enhanced its suite of existing medical insurance plans – Classic, Gold and Gold Superior – which are suitable for companies of all sizes, from SMEs to large corporates.
The Classic and Gold health plans, which already provide a variety of benefits including inpatient and outpatient treatment, maternity cover and much more, now also include increased allowances for vaccinations, as well as increased value of cover for congenital conditions and the number of prescriptions covered.
Companies with the Gold Superior plan can provide their expats and families with the highest level of medical insurance cover. Already including benefits such as unlimited cover for family doctor treatment, maternity cover and prescriptions paid in full, it now includes enhanced benefit limits such as an increase in the amount of cover for congenital conditions.
There is also an option to add travel insurance to the existing health plans to combine everything into one simple policy.
Nic Brown, Intermediary and Partnership Director, Bupa Global, said:
“We are delighted to enhance our existing plans, and continue to partner with PSHP to deliver a unique, comprehensive range of international private medical and travel plans. This range is specifically designed to meet the varying requirements of their existing and future customers and to provide peace of mind through this highly valued employee benefit.”
Teresa added:
“Through our exclusive arrangement with Bupa Global, we are delighted to offer companies the most comprehensive range of medical insurance available for expats. By enhancing our existing solutions we hope to support more companies as they realise their expansion goals and successfully relocate their staff overseas, while confident that they are providing them with the highest level of support whilst minimising their business risks.”
